Fellow SOBANS,
It is with profound sadness that I announce the passing of Senior SOBAN Joseph Yudom of the 1962 class, a devoted member of SOBA America and SOBA DMV, on March 17, 2025, in Washington, D.C. after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Soban # 1358
Born on August 23, 1947, Mr. Yudom was a distinguished Cameroonian educator, entrepreneur, and politician. *He studied at St. Joseph’s College Sasse and Cape Coast University Ghana*, returning home to become a respected educator (PLEG Hors Hiérarchie) with a remarkable ability to transform struggling schools into thriving institutions.
In the realm of politics, SOBAN Yudom played a pivotal role in the SDF as Assistant Secretary General of the party’s National Executive Committee and as an alternate member of parliament. His jovial nature, infectious sense of humor, and dedication to his community have left an indelible mark on countless lives.
As a registered member of SOBA America and SOBA DMV, SOBAN Yudom will be entitled to the full SOBA America final farewell protocol at his funeral.
He is survived by his loving wife, eight children, many grandchildren, and the countless lives he touched. One of his sons, SOBAN Serge Olivier Yudom (1986 class), a member of SOBA Dallas, will deeply miss his father’s guidance and love.
Rest in peace, dear Senior SOBAN Yudom. Your legacy of dedication, love, and service will continue to inspire us.
Please join me to pray for SOBAN Serge Yudom and his family during this difficult time. May Senior SOBAN Joseph Yudom rest in peace with the Lord.
SOBANLY
Dr. Bertrand Fote
